THE MOCKINGBIRD’S CHILDREN.
One of the one-hour drawings I’ve been doing, available for purchasing by you right here. All the ones thus far are here. This one took a good bit longer than an hour, but it was for my bro Steven Gettis at Hey Oscar Wilde--he collects literary-themed pinups from cartoonists and illustrators. I put some extra mensch-minutes into it.
I only have a few minutes, but I’ll share a thought. Firstly, I have had several moments of clarity in the past few weeks. I love to sing, I find myself singing everyday, mostly show tunes and soft rock ballads. My favorites include such Broadway greats as The Sound of Music and West Side Story along such voices as Michael Bolton and Peter Gabriel to name a few. I realized that as long as I live I will sing everyday. The next day is never assured, but if tomorrow be it, I will sing all I can today, in hopes that I can hone the voice I have inherited.

As a nonconformist prisoner in Cool Hand Luke, Newman bellows to God in the pouring rain: “Let me know you’re up there, c’mon! Love me, hate me, kill me, anything — just let me know it!”
